SUMMARY: A popular walk above Nunnington, along Caulkleys Bank.

1. Turn left out of the car park (GR 665 791) then turn immediately right (before reaching church) up track toward Caulkley’s Wood.
2. Turn left at top along track to cross road (The Avenue) at base of Caulkley’s Bank and then onward toward trig point (GR 673 782).
3. Continue, bearing left at Stampers Wood, downhill along Caulkley’s Lane. On reaching road at West Ness, turn right for ¼ mile then turn left on signed path toward river. Pass through buildings then continue on path to left alongside river to re-join road heading toward Ness Bridge.
4. Turn left off road before reaching bridge and follow path alongside River Rye.
5. Bear right at High Orchard (GR 670 793) to reach road past Nunnington Hall. Turn right, then left just before bridge. Follow road to end, turning left around bend to reach Nunnington Church crossroads.
6. Turn right back to car parking area.
