The Lunchtime Book Group , as the name suggests exploits a new meeting time slot for our busy u3a, meeting on the second Thursday of the month. Members can bring along a snack to eat during the discussion if they wish.
A special feature of the group is that all books chosen will be available in an audio version for those who like to consume literature in that form or might choose to try it occasionally, whilst others will choose to read a conventional book , or the e-version.
The books will be chosen collectively by the group with the aim of sampling a range of genres, so that members may be introduced to something they would not have chosen for themselves and be presented with the occasional challenge but the discussions will always be convivial and not excessively learned.
There is also the possibility that the group might occasionally liaise with a similar group in York .
