Would you like to meet new people and enjoy chatting over a relaxed meal at a good restaurant?

If so, we have the very thing for you.

The Dining Group is for u3a members to meet socially and enjoy good food together. Our Dining Events may be lunch time or evening meals. We intend to visit places that produce high quality food, or are doing something a bit different and we will try to have at least one event each month with meals typically in the £30 to £40 range or less.

Ideally, most events will not require any advance payment and members will be free to order what courses they want on the day and will pay their own bills individually and directly with the restaurant .

Occasionally, events may require an advance deposit or choice of courses in advance.

Although events might take place on any day, if the event is a lunch then preferred dates will be the first Wednesday or first Friday of the month or any Sunday.

Members are free to choose which events they wish to attend.

We will try to have many events accessible by public transport but in some cases car sharing may be necessary. If car sharing is offered as transport to an event, driver(s) would be asked not to consume alcohol at that event.

The Group Leader(s) are not there to do all the work and provide for your entertainment. Each group member is expected to come up with a proposed event, research the necessary details with the restaurant and pass these organizational details to the Group Leader(s) who will issue an Announcement to all members asking who wishes to book a place at that event.

Members must each take personal responsibility for advising the restaurant if they have  any allergies by email in advance and also inform restaurant staff on the day. It is strictly your responsibility to do this.
