Would you like to know where your roots are - where you really came from?

I was convinced I was a Londoner until I found my 2x Great Grandfather was born in North Devon and he became a Master Mariner crossing the Atlantic frequently with 14 year old family members in his crew. I now have living relatives in USA, South Africa, Australia, Canada and Jamaica most of whom I have met or chatted to.

The purpose of this Group is to help you develop your family tree in a manner which endeavours to protect you from making significant mistakes - eg developing a tree for the same surname but finding later it is not your family - hours of wasted time and money.

I am an experienced Genealogist with thirty years of research for myself and friends, unpaid as a hobby. With support it will not take you thirty years, more likely just one.

This group is aimed mainly at people who have not done any family tree research, beyond dabbling.

In due course you will need to use a PC or MAC but if you are not confident with technology I am sure I can provide some training.

I cannot be a 24 hour support service as I have a life! However if you hit a brick wall on technology or research I will do my best. You will do the work but after full guidance at our launch and subsequent meetings.

The cost of this research will be in the region of £30 for certificates, £80 for a specific family tree App (developed in Ukraine), and £10.99 a month subscription later on (for a few months, can cancel and rejoin without loss of data) when research gets to the early 1900’s. If we all use the same tools then I can provide support and I can give you training.

We will have monthly meetings and I will tell you more about that at our launch meeting.
